At SCHQ, we are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for three awards this year. Yes, three!
At the UK Festival Awards, we have been shortlisted for the ‘Innovation Award’ for our work with Imperial College London and Certific to develop our own Pre-Event Covid Certification Process (PCCP) alongside the ‘Line-up of the Year’ award in recognition of our 2022 gender-balanced music programming.
At the Live Awards we have been shortlisted for the ‘Festival of The Year’ award for recognition of both our PCCP and gender-balanced music programming.
In 2022, we are extremely proud to have made a huge positive contribution to the wider sense of achievable inclusivity in festival music programming, becoming the first and only major UK festival to achieve the PRS Foundation’s Keychange pledge. This means we had equal gender parity, with 51% of our line-up comprising of women and non-binary artists. We focused on the talent and the opportunities this target created to support the health of the live music eco-system. Our line-up is stronger and more diverse than ever. We’re delighted to be leading the way amongst the industry, showing that gender balance in festivals in 2022 is both possible and a key component of curating an exciting line up.
At the start of 2021 there was an absence of government guidance for Covid-safe event planning so we developed our own Pre-Event Covid Certification Process (PCCP). This robust procedure required every Standoner to do a video recorded lateral-flow-test on the Certific-app. Our work with Imperial College London helped towards developing a platform for Public Health Authorities to determine Covid transmission risk at live events in future. Helping keep everyone safe and ensure the long-term sustainability of events was our goal.
We are proud to be shortlisted for awards at the Live Awards and the UK Festival Awards and we’re very grateful to you – our audience – for voting for us.
Wish us luck! We can’t wait for Standon Calling 2023 and to deliver an even more spectacular show.
