Introducing our Greater Anglia partnership 

In order to provide an easy way for Standon Calling guests to get to and from the festival, and with an effort to reduce carbon emissions, we’ve partnered with Greater Anglia to bring you our ‘Take the Train’ ticket, train and bus package.

Safe, easy and green, we’re providing an affordable train package and shuttle bus service so you can sit back, relax and reap the benefits of train travel.

How does it work?

You will receive an exclusive Standon Calling Smart Card which conveniently stores your festival entry ticket, your open return rail travel to Bishops Stortford station, and return shuttle bus from Bishops Stortford station to the festival.

 

  1. Purchase your festival ticket + travel package from the Standon Calling website
  2. Receive your Smart Card in the post which contains both your festival entry and travel.
  3. Use your smart card at any of the named stations to travel to Bishops Stortford train station  – no need to book in advance – your Smart Card includes unreserved open return rail travel on Greater Anglia services
  4. When you arrive at Bishops Stortford show your Smart Card to the bus driver to board the shuttle bus in the train station car park
  5. Upon arrival at the festival your Smart Card will be scanned at the gate and you will receive your wristband.

The travel part of your ticket is valid for one return rail journey to Bishops Stortford on Greater Anglia Services from any of the following stations:

  • When will I recieve my Smartcard?

    Each individual attendee will receive a Smart Card from Greater Anglia by post before the festival. Your Smart Card stores your festival ticket, return rail travel and return bus travel all on the same card! You will need to present your smart card to be scanned when travelling from any of the named train stations, as well as at the festival entrance gate.

    Smart cards are only dispatched to ticket holders who purchased their tickets prior to July 11th 2019.

    If you purchase your ticket after 11th July 2019, you will not receive a Smart Card. Instead you will receive a confirmation email from Universe which contains your festival  e-ticket which will allow you to enter the festival, and you also receive a Permit To Travel letter which will allow you to travel. Please print these off to avoid issues at the named train stations.

  • What is my Smartcard valid for?

    Weekend + Travel package tickets are valid for weekend festival entry and one open return rail journey to Bishops Stortford train station between the dates of Thursday 25th July and Monday 29th. Your ticket also includes return shuttle bus travel from Bishops Stortford train station to the festival site – please check bus operating times in advance.

    Day + Travel package tickets are valid for festival entry and one open return rail journey to Bishops Stortford train station on the specific day you have purchased a ticket for. Your ticket also includes return shuttle bus travel from Bishops Stortford train station to the festival site – please check bus operating times in advance.

    Travel ONLY tickets are valid for one open return rail journey to Bishops Stortford train station between the dates of Thursday 25th July and Monday 29th if you are a weekend ticket holder. If you are a day ticket holder, the travel portion of your ticket is valid for one open return rail journey to Bishops Stortford train station on the specific day you have purchased a ticket for. Your ticket also includes return shuttle bus travel from Bishops Stortford train station to the festival site – please check bus operating times in advance.

  • What’s the difference between stations on the London Matrix and stations outside of London?

    The Smart Card is valid only on the named Greater Anglia routes. Please ensure that you purchase the correct travel package for your route from the two options below:

    1. Named stations on the London Matrix
    2. Named stations outside of London
  • How do I gain entry to the festival?

    To gain entry to the festival, you must present valid Greater Anglia / Standon Calling smart card ticket which will be scanned on arrival.

    If you have purchased your ticket after 11th July, you will need to present your Universe e‐ticket which will be scanned on arrival at the festival entrance gate.

  • When can I travel to the festival?

    The travel portion of your ticket is valid for one open return journey on Greater Anglia rail services between the dates of Thursday 25th July and Monday 29th July. Seating on Greater Anglia services is unreserved.

    Please ensure that you check availability and times of trains before travelling.

  • I already have my festival ticket. Can I still buy discounted rail travel?

    Yes! You can purchase Travel ONLY tickets and still make a huge saving when travelling to the festival.

  • What if I can no longer make it to the festival?

    Festival tickets are not transferable / not for resale / and non‐refundable under any circumstances.

  • Infant Travel

    Infants (ages 0-3) are able to travel for free when accompanied by a paying adult, but will need either a valid weekend + travel ticket, or an Infant Travel ONLY ticket.

    Infant Travel tickets are only valid when used in conjunction with an Adult Travel ticket. Infants must either travel in a pram or on parents lap.

  • What if I lose my Smartcard?

    If you have lost your Smart Card, please contact Greater Anglia to request a replacement. Please be aware that there is charge to replace lost Smart Cards.

  • Conditions of travel

    Greater Anglia/Standon Calling tickets are only valid when booked as part of a Greater Anglia Train Package and are only valid when travelling by train and shuttle bus from Bishops Stortford station. Tickets are not valid for arrival on site by car. The travel portion of your ticket is valid for one open return journey, seating is unreserved.
