We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Standon Calling and our brilliant production team We Organise Chaos won the ‘Full Event Production of the Year’ award at last Thursday’s Event Production Awards (EPA).
This is a huge accolade for us both and we’re very grateful to have the success, effort and innovation for 2021’s Standon Calling festival recognised by the industry.
As an independent festival that wasn’t part of the Government’s Event Research Programme, to go ahead on 22-25 July last year – just three days after full capacity events were given the green light on 19 July was an incredible feat and a full team effort.
Explaining their choice, an EPA judge said, “Delivering the festival on the back of a pandemic and in the midst of a pingdemic was a truly challenging set of circumstances. Achieving success was a considerable feat and is one which set parameters within which other festivals could operate.”
Alex Trenchard, Festival Director and Founder said, “2021 was the toughest ever year in Standon Calling’s history. I still cannot believe the extent of the Herculean efforts from our Head Office Team, from Clare and Tom at We Organise Chaos and the rest of our production team, from our local stakeholders at East Herts Safety Advisory Group, East Herts Council, the Police, the Fire Service, EHO. I also want to thank our amazing Standon Calling audience for being so accommodating of all the Covid related hoops which ultimately ensured everyone was kept as Covid-safe as possible. We could not have put on the 2021 festival without all of us working together and this award is for all! We are now totally focussed on building on this success to deliver an even better festival in 2022!”
We’re very grateful for the award and to all the people that made the 2021 event happen and to you – our audience – for trusting us to deliver Standon Calling 2021 in those circumstances.
