23-26 July 2020, Hertfordshire, SG11 1EE

As the best weekend of summer draws nearer, we thought we’d recap everything you need to know ahead of Standon 2019.

We don’t expect you to know everything you need to know to prepare – you’re only human, after all.

Travel info, box office times, what not to bring – it’s all here (no more lyrical puns from now on, we promise).

WHERE AND WHEN IS IT?

Standon Calling Festival takes place in the most electrifyingly beautiful location of Standon Lordship, SG11 1EE from Thursday 25th – Sunday 28th July 2019.

HOW THE HELL DO I GET HERE?

“And what the hell am I doing heeeeeere….?”

BY CAR

Satnav on? Cool. Type in ‘SG11 1EE’ if you’re driving. If you’re not driving, why are you reading this section?! As you approach the site, be careful of narrow surround roads and follow AA road signs to festival parking. Now, this is VERY important: remember to book your car parking pass in advance (before Monday 22nd July) too, one per vehicle. Also, don’t forget to offer your friends a lift! A pick up and drop off point will be assigned and available for use in the festival car park. We’ve got it all covered, just remember to feed the cat before you leave.

When you’re approaching, do us all a favour and look out for the signs rather than take the exit for car park. From our car park it is approximately 5-15 minutes to the campsites depending on where you decide to camp. If you don’t fancy carrying a tent, get Camplight to sort it all out for you. You can order a pre-pitched tent from Camplight from as little as £10 per night, meaning you don’t have to carry, pitch and pack down your tent. They also have air mattresses and sleeping bags – winning!

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY TICKET YET, HELP!

Tickets have now been dispatched, if you’ve not received your ticket by this time you’ll need to contact the ticket agent you booked with.

CAN I BUY BACKSTAGE BAR PASSES AND LAVISH LANDS CAMPING ON SITE?

Yes, remember these limited additional purchases are also available online. You can upgrade to Lavish Lands at the box office, whilst stocks last. You can upgrade to Backstage Bar at the Info Tents, whilst stocks last.

WHAT TIME DO THE CAMPSITES OPEN?

The general campsites open at 12pm Wednesday 12th July and close 12pm Monday 17th July.

WHICH CAMPSITE CAN I CAMP IN?

Are you going to stay with us all the time? Oh yeah, I go all the way! Oh I bet you do… All of our general admission campsites are on a first come first served basis. Except if you’re staying in a yurt, then drag your feet, take your time, it’s clearly on your side.

I’M PACKING FOR THE FESTIVAL, WHAT CAN I BRING?

Don’t forget your toothbrush. Or your ticket and ID. Suncream, fingers crossed. Wellies, if our prayers aren’t answered in time. Waterproofs, just because. We’ll be selling reusable water bottles, but feel free to bring your own.

Now, we’re festival veterans, so trust us – you will need layers for the evening. Bring a torch, unless you eat carrots for fun. A hat, regardless of the weather.

Booze? Yes, in the camp. Weekend ticket holders are permitted to bring alcohol for personal consumption in the campsite. No, in the arena.

Got a phone – if you haven’t, eh? – then download our app.

Things you can’t bring, and we are strictly serious about all of these. View this list here.

Disposable BBQs are allowed at the festival provided they are raised off the grass. Please be aware that in the event of extremely dry weather we reserve the right to ban BBQs, gas stoves and other equipment on the grounds of safety. We reserve the right to ban the use of any gas canisters or open flames if there is an increased safety risk e.g. in extremely dry weather conditions.

SAVE THE PLANET, STAY HYDRATED?

We encourage you to bring empty sports or metal refillable bottles of any size to refill at the water points inside the arena for free. Plus, you can bring any sealed or empty plastic water bottles to refill, these must be sealed and untampered with (we have pals who can check, you’ll never get past their beady eyes).

Here’s what we’ve put in place to work towards eliminating single use plastic at the festival. We’re asking you all to please work with us and dispose of what plastic is on site responsibly:

  • Please minimise the single use plastic you bring! We encourage you to bring empty sports or metal refillable bottles of any size to refill at the water points inside the arena for free. Plus, you can bring any sealed or empty plastic water bottles to refill, these must be sealed and untampered with.
  • You are welcome to bring your own refillable bottle to refill at the arena water stations, they are also available for sale in the merch stalls
  • We use reusable cups at the arena bars with a £2 deposit

FOOD, GLORIOUS, FOOD

We’re all massive foodies here, so we’ve gone and done the right thing and secured some of the best street food traders in the biz to join us. Click here to discover all of the delicious food available in the arena and the village green for breakfast (which is accessible from the campsite).

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

It’s 2019 and dogs are part of our family. Bring them! Standon Calling is for everyone – including your gorgeous dogs.

Since the festival began in 2005 we have welcomed thousands of dogs to enjoy a magical weekend with their owners and can proudly claim to be the most dog-friendly festival in the UK. Simply register your dog’s details on arrival, provide your contact details and sign a short terms and conditions of entry slip stipulating the following:

  • I will keep my dog on a lead at all times
  • I understand dogs are not permitted on The Lawn or in the designated Kid’s Areas
  • I will pick up after my dog
  • I understand if I am deemed to not be taking appropriate care of my dog I will be asked to leave the site

You can also pre-register your dog with the online form here

Every dog is invited to take part in our fun, inclusive and beloved annual dog show, which will take place at 14:30 on Sunday. Perhaps you’ll even head home with a much-coveted rosette for categories including ‘Dog with the Waggiest Tail’, ‘Looks Most Like Owner’ and many other prizes celebrating dogs of all shapes, sizes and characters.

JUMP IN THE POOL

That’s right – we have a on site built in swimming pool for taking a splash and cooling off. Opening times below!
