We’re thrilled to announce our first set of comedy names for this year’s Standon Calling Festival. Without further ado, we introduce some of our comedy favourites set to induce belly laughs at The Lawn.
One of the most recognisable comedians of the past decade, whose appearances across the likes of Live At The Apollo, Celebrity Juice and more have captured the eyes of the nation with hilarious award-winning ease. Outspoken with his recent viral ‘Kaneings’ videos and fresh from sold-out shows around the globe, there’s bound to be a packed tent when he arrives at Standon Calling this year.
Panel show favourite Angela Barnes takes another headline slot, bringing the award-winning comedic insights that have taken her across Radio 4, Mock The Week amongst many others. After three sell-out Edinburgh runs, we can’t wait to preview what Angela has in store next at Standon Calling.
Critics’ favourite stand up comedian, writer, actor, Jen Brister is truly a force to be reckoned with. Performing alongside comedians such as Russell Brand, Frankie Boyle and Kerry Godliman and appearing on smash hit podcasts such as The Guilty Feminist, Global Pillage and Standard Issue, Jen’s not to be missed at this year’s festival.
If you like honest, anecdotal comedy about growing up in England, make sure Sarah Keyworth is on your ones to watch list. Known for her light hearted observations, quick wit and occasional deadpan delivery, we can’t wait to see what Sarah has in store for Standon Calling this year.
Also appearing across the weekend, Ireland’s favourite hip hop comedian Abandoman will be entertaining us with his multi-talented freestyle flows. ‘Comedy queen’ Cally Beaton will bring her intelligent, punchline rich material, Amy Gledhill will take us on hilarious off-beat tangents and BBC New Comedy graduate Jacob Hawley will take us into the future of comedy, dubbed the new voice of the scene.
With entertainment, unique activities and sights we have something for everyone.
