New Music Friday

Find out what music news has caught our attention this week!

Rihanna is back!

After 6 long years, Rihanna has returned with a new song ‘Lift Me Up’. It will appear on the soundtrack to Black Panthers highly anticipated sequel; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, coming to the big screen in early November.

Since announcing her Super Bowl halftime show, the news is heating up on when we can expect to get our hands on her ninth album. We’ve heard through the grapevine it’s heading in a more reggae direction and we just can’t wait to see what she brings us!

If you don’t already know about Dylan, get to know! After growing a dedicated fanbase on TikTok during lockdown, Dylan has just released an epic first EP, ‘The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn’. Writing about heartbreak, anger and growing independence, it’s “the perfect soundtrack as another glorious Hot Girl Summer fades into autumn” (NME). Keep an eye on Dylan, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the new year.

Bob Vylan’s return

Standon faves Bob Vylan are back with new track ‘The Delicate Natures’, featuring Slaves’ Laurie Vincent. They crossed paths on Instagram, after Bob Vylan requested to remix a song by the Slaves. After hearing the result, Laurie was keen to collaborate, pushing the band to challenge themselves and try new things. You can catch Bob Vylan on their own UK tour this November and December.
