This week, we caught up with Joe, one of the masterminds behind Woodland Tribe. You’ll remember these guys as the legends who brought the Giant Zip line to life, as well as their climbing frames and adventure playgrounds.
Woodland Tribe are a not-for-profit CIC supporting and promoting the adventure playground movement in the UK. We are a collective of experienced creatives including; artists, playworkers, film makers, teachers, carpenters and social workers. At Standon we create a space where children and grown ups can build their own adventure playground. We also host a woodland rope play activity with zip wires, swings and giant nets.
Hearing the feedback we get from participants is probably the best bit. It’s amazing when a family leave the area after hours of play with huge smiles on their faces. And it’s really cool when you see a child hammer in their first ever nail all by themselves.
There is a lovely community which follows us, and it is wonderful to see the same familiar faces return year on year and know that woodland tribe has in some way contributed to their childhood.
Glitter and fancy dress.
It’s a good mix of partying your pants off and awesome family activities. Also the production team is fantastic, and those awesome vibes definitely seep into the festival. And the dog show of course!
