Q&A with Jeffrey Pearman, Farmer & Public Figure

Jeffrey’s farmland makes up General Camping, Boutique Camping, Wild Wellbeing and half of Lavish Lands. Without Jeffrey and other local farmer Philip Smith, the festival would quite simply never have got going in the early years. When they are not in The Star, Jeffrey and Philip are always available and willing to lend a hand (or JCB!).

If you see either of them at Standon Calling 2021 buy them a drink!

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Standon Calling.

My name is Jeffrey Pearman and I am a neighbouring farmer to Standon Lordship. Some of my land is used for the for the festival site.

2. What’s the best bit about your job?

I enjoy seeing the site developing in only a few short weeks from green pasture to a vibrant colourful festival and then just as quickly returning to pasture again.

3. What do you love most about festivals?

Having some of the best artists in the country performing on our doorstep. Plus the amazing food tents and bars of course!

4. Tell us, what’s special about Standon Calling?

It has grown from a small barbecue birthday celebration and hasn’t lost any of its charm and family feel – I enjoy reconnecting with friends who were involved in the setting up of the very first festivals who still return every year.

Thank you Jeffrey! We look forward to seeing you at Standon Calling.
